Spiva Center for the Arts Upstairs Gallery, 222 West 3rd Street
March 6-April 25
In January, twenty enthusiastic children ages 4 through 8 learned the difference between “bird’s-eye-view” and “worm’s-eye-view” and scoured the galleries for examples of landscapes, texture, and pattern. Each child received a disposable point-and-shoot camera and one special assignment: to shoot photos that would be displayed at Spiva in a gallery of their own. The images they captured were reviewed by a panel of three judges: professional photographers Linda Teeter and Mark Neuenschwander and Webb City elementary art teacher Nellie Mitchell. Three photos by each child will be displayed, and all are for sale: $25, framed; $10 unframed.
Spiva is open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm and Sundays 1:00 to 5:00.
