Undercliff Grill and Bar

There is a lot of history under this cliff... In the mid-1800's a Mr. Tipton owned this land where Shoal Creek was low enough for people traveling between Joplin and Neosho to make the crossing. tTe town which grew here was named Tipton Ford. In 1928, Ab McConnell opened a general store on this site named Undercliff which is where the name originated from. The store operated until 1961, when Frank and Bonnie's, known for delicious fried chicken (which they do not serve), opened. In 1980, a fire destroyed the restaurant and the land remained vacant until Undercliff Grill and Bar was established in February 1995. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
