Emancipation Day Celebration
August 1, 2025 to August 3, 2025
The Emancipation Day Celebration is a Joplin tradition. The event has been celebrated annually in Ewert Park since at least the 1920s and is Joplin's oldest ongoing celebration. This event is FREE and open to the public and teaches about African American history, culture, and achievement.
The celebration is three days full of activities, including a car show, a movie in the park, live music and entertainment, a kid's farmer's market, gaming tournaments, and vendor booths.
