Joplin Hamfest (Amateur Radio Event)

Hundreds of amateur radio operators (hams) from across the Midwest attend the Joplin Hamfest each August. Over two days, they meet with old and new friends, trade radio gear, purchase equipment, test for FCC licensing, attend meetings and technical forums, see demonstrations related to the hobby, and more. This annual event is sponsored by the Joplin Amateur Radio Club. Registration is available online.

Hamfest is Friday, 8/23 from noon until 7 pm, and Saturday, 8/24 from 8 am until 2 pm.
